PIAA Registration - First Sport of the Year

Sports Registration Information

The PIAA requires students interested in participating in an interscholastic sport to have a comprehensive physical examination completed by a licensed physician, nurse practitioner or physician assistant before the first practice each year.  If a student plays a second or third sport in a given school year, they need a recertification which will be completed by our team physicians.  A student at Schuylkill Valley only needs 1 physical per year regardless of how many seasons the student plays a sport during a school year.

Schuylkill Valley offers athletic physicals at the high school  prior to each season conducted by our Team Physician, Dr. Travis Miller, along with staff from Penn State St. Joe's. Physicals are valid for one year and can only be completed on or after June 1 for the upcoming school year.

Students must turn in a white Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form the first time they play a Schuylkill Valley PIAA sport during a given school year. If a student plays a second or third sport during the same school year, he/she must register for that sport by filling out a blue Recertification form. These forms are available in the high school office, middle school office and athletic office and should be returned to any of the aforementioned places.
