Schuylkill Valley will be hosting a junior high and high school sideline competition on Saturday, October 29 starting at 10:00 am.  This competition evaluates how well a team can perform during sideline cheering.  Teams are evaluated in three areas of performance:

• Sideline Cheer – teams will enter the competition floor while the coach picks a script from the hat.  The script will be read detailing a situation that is part of a football or soccer game. The performing team will have to perform a sideline cheer that would be effective for the given situation. 
• Band Dance – teams will bring their own music to perform a band dance no more than 1 minute in duration
• Timeout Cheer – teams will perform a cheer that would be effective for the quarter change in football or soccer pre-game/halftime

Teams will be judged on execution, energy, crowd involvement, sport knowledge, effectiveness and overall performance
